Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Learn English: AI Tutor (English Tutor), our mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

2. License to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial learning, in accordance with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are not available in the current release. If offered in a future version, the following terms will apply:

  • Some features may require an in-app purchase or subscription. Prices are shown in the App before you buy.
  • All payments are processed by Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Google Play according to its refund policy.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and speech you submit in the App ("User Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your User Content solely to operate, provide and improve the App's features.

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes the rights of others.

5. AI-generated content

Ellie's replies, suggestions, translations, scores and reviews are generated automatically and may sometimes be inaccurate or incomplete. They are provided for language-learning purposes only and are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice. You are responsible for how you use them.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the App;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the App's source code, except where permitted by law;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers or networks, or attempt unauthorized access;
  • Use the App to violate any law or the rights of others.

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its lessons, characters (including Ellie), design, graphics, text and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license above, no rights are granted to you.

8. Third-party services

The App includes third-party services such as advertising, analytics, Google Play Billing and the YouTube player. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or services.

9. Changes and availability

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may also update these Terms; continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will achieve any particular learning result.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law in your place of residence, except where otherwise required. Mandatory consumer protection rights in your country are not affected.
